Basal Cell Carcinoma

Basal cell carcinoma, depicted in the images below, may be identified by the presence of small and large nests of tumor cells are seen in the dermis. These nests are composed of tumor cells which resemble basal layer of epidermis. Retraction clefts and peripheral palisading is also visible.
