Skeletal muscle has striated appearance. It is under voluntary control and is innervated by somatic motor nerve. A muscle fiber or simply a muscle cell consists of:
- Sarcolemma
- ‘T’ tubules
- Sarcoplasm
- Sarcoplasmic reticulum
- Mitochondria
- Myofibrils
- Myofilaments
